A Loving Home

Looking for a new pet? Why not give a Greyhound a very happy retirement...

The Greyhound is one of the oldest breeds of dog in existence, with scholars saying they can even be traced back to 4,000 year-old cave paintings!

And with approximately 9,000 greyhounds retiring from racing each year, it's also a breed that is increasingly in need of a loving home.

That's why Swindon Greyhounds at the Abbey Stadium in Swindon are a strong supporter of the Retired Greyhound Trust.

The Trust has a number of dogs seeking new homes at any one time, and takes great pride in matching the right greyhound to the right household.

Why choose a Greyhound?

Contrary to popular opinion, the Greyhound doesn't actually need a lot of exercise. In fact, most are happy with two 20 minute walks a day!

They are also very sociable animals, and love being handled by people of all ages, including children.

Now that you’ve got the facts, why not find out for yourself?

You can visit the Retired Greyhound Trust website via the link below or telephone 01793 721253 during office hours for further details.
